Hi, I’m Margaret. I make a lot of bad art, and very occasionally make good writing about what it means to live and learn by the art we love.
I’m a psychiatry resident who loves books, whimsy, evidence-based wellness, 1980s action movies, and absurd Tumblr-esque humor. In my day job, I’m a psychiatry resident interested in psychodynamic therapy, eating disorders, and women’s mental health at transition life points (though none of this is medical advice). I am also 1/2 of the podcast, How to Be Patient. I write to work things out for myself, and to share thoughts that might be helpful, relatable, weird, or delightful to you. I always struggle to keep my dishes clean. I love rom-coms of any and all ilks.
Why pay?
Every other article will be a paid article. Paid subscribers get deeper dives, more personal musings, and more access to conversation and comments. They are also the ones that give me the time to take less shifts at the hospital to pay off my medical school loans, which allows me time to research, write, and create here. I view my paid subscribers as regal aristocracy who are patron of the arts, and I come perform my little craft in their inboxes. They also allow me the time to write the free content here, which is provided for all subscribers.
Let’s make bad art together.
Come to the comments and the chat and teach us what you know. We all have something to learn from each other.
